The Feast of Veraison, 4, 5 & 6 August in Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Vaucluse), an immersion in the time of the Popes of Avignon and their grands crus.

Pope Clement VI, the most epicurean of the Pontifical Pontiffs of Avignon, owes much thanks to which the castle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a holiday residence, becomes in the fourteenth century a place of pleasure for good food where wine flows in abundance. Since 1985, the village celebrates the character with the Feast of the Veraison, which proposes during three days an immersion in the Middle Ages. On the program: medieval market, historical reconstructions, shows, animations and workshops for children. More than 200 comedians in costumes stroll through the alleys of the village, camps are installed here and there with extras who live under the conditions of the time.
